Postdoctoral position in Molecular Neurobiology

Updated: 4 months ago
Job Type: FullTime
Deadline: 10 Mar 2022

The applicant Is expected to conduct a project focused on the identification of ncRNA species early deregulated in Huntington’s disease (HD) neurodegeneration and understand their involvement in disease evolution. The understanding of how small RNAs, confer neurotoxicity and their possible functional interaction with other pathogenic mechanisms is crucial to develop effective disease-modifying interventions. The candidate will apply a combination of experimental approaches in in vitro and in vivo models and computational methods

Specific objectives and tasks in which the candidate will be involved are: (1) To study the cell-type specificity of ncRNA formation and their correlation with HD progression stages. (2) To determine the molecular mechanisms by which ncRNAs could induce pathogenic disturbances in HD and (3) To investigate the potential use of ncRNA modulators as novel therapeutic targets to HTT-related neurotoxicity
