Job description 

We are looking for a PhD candidate to carry out the following functions: 

  • Growth and static characterization of novel nanomaterials 
  • Characterization of dynamical processes and control with optical methods
  • Develop experimental laser setups
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and protocols
  • Apply for fellowships and grants
  • Support experiments at large scale facilities such as synchrotrons and Free Electron Lasers – FELs

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: MS in condensed matter physics
  • Communication skills in English and Spanish
  • Ability to work in a team, flexibility, and adaptability to handle multiple tasks
  • Experience in sample growing and characterization of materials’ magnetic, electronic and structural properties. Experience in spectroscopy and microscopy is valuable
  • Knowledge in programming (Python) and 3D modelling will be valuable
  • Availability to travel

Working conditions: 

  • Full-time employment contract (37.5H per week).
  • Contract duration: 4 years (starting from Oct 2026)
