Offer Description

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a full-time position as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the frame of the project COAST. The project will focus on assessing different biodiversitydimensions in relation to the ecosystem functioning of Santo Antão marine ecosystems. Aside fromcoastal habitats and anthropogenic pressures mapping, COAST will also evaluate the vulnerability of thestudied marine communities and create pilot conservation and restoration actions for selected degraded ecosystems, to increase their resilience. The successful candidate will: (1) participate in the restoration and monitoring fieldwork, (2) carry out aquaria experiments with corals collected and assess the reproduction of the model coral species, (3) statistically analyse data obtained, and (4) write reports and scientific research articles

A completed PhD in Ecology, Marine Sciences, Environmental Sciences or equivalent.

Strong background in marine ecology and ecological restoration.

Capacity to conduct fieldwork at sea.

Proved experience in writing scientific manuscripts and a track record of publications in high-impact international journals.
