Job title: A Holocene perspective to climate changes, extreme events and water resources: the predictive capability of the palaeosciences

Research line / Scientific-technical services: Paleoclimatology

1) Tasks to be carried out

The tasks to be carried out by the beneficiary will be in the field of the earth and water sciences .

The beneficiary of this research contract will carry out the following tasks: Sediment analysis. Characterisation of microfossil remains using instrumental techniques.

2) Justification of the duration of the contract

The duration of the contract will be 12 months.

The call may be declared void if candidates do not achieve a minimum score of 40 points in the selection criteria detailed in Blocks 1 and 2.

Selection and evaluation criteria

Block 1 - Training:

- Academic record (maximum 20 points). In the case of having other degrees, the score will be balanced according to the number of credits of each degree as follows: (CT1*NT1 + CT2*NT2)/(CT1 + CT2); where CT is the number of credits of the degree and NT is the record of the degree.

- Training in statistical techniques and data handling (maximum 10 points; 1 point/10 hours of training)

- Training in geographic information systems (maximum 5 points; 1 point/10 hours of training).

Block 2 - Experience:

- Experience in environmental jobs (maximum 30 points; 10 points/year)

- Experience in the use of biogeochemical and/or molecular analysis techniques (maximum 10 points; 2 points/year).

- Participation in scientific conferences (maximum 5 points; 1 point/congress).

Block 3 - Personal interview:

- A personal interview will be arranged with candidates who achieve a minimum score of 60 points in blocks 1 and 2 (maximum 20 points).
