Gross salary: €22,192.80 for the first three years and €27,300.00 for the fourth year

Research project

The candidate will work on the development of new sensor systems and new intelligent materials for the controlled release of species of interest, and their application in the field of biomedicine. The multidisciplinary project will integrate advanced knowledge of nanochemistry in medicine. PI of the project: Dr. Andrea Bernardos Bau

The PhD researcher will develop the synthetic and experimental tasks of the project as part of his PhD thesis project:

  • Synthesis and characterization of hybrid silica nanomaterials for therapeutic agents controlled release for biomedical applications.
  • Synthesis and characterization of new molecular probes and contrast agents for biomedical applications.
  • Synthesis and characterization of new molecular prodrugs and screening of new drugs acting as therapeutic agents for biomedical applications.
  • Study and In vitro and in vivo validation of the new sensors, contrast agents and therapeutic agents for biomedical applications.

The tasks that the PhD will perform offer:

  • Training in material sciences, inorganic chemistry, and biochemistry
  • Work on interdisciplinary research on the frontier of chemistry and biology
  • Development of organizational skills, writing of scientific publications, and communication of project results at conferences.

Requirements

University bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry or similar and master's degree (or the equivalent number of credits) in chemistry, biochemistry or related area.

To have obtained the university bachelor's degree issued by a University or institution NOT belonging to the European Union.
