PhD fellowship opportunity in synthetic methodology

BISI-Bonds is a Barcelona-based synthetic methodology research group, located at the Institute of Advanced Chemistry of Catalonia (IQAC-CSIC) and the Institut Químic de Sarrià (IQS-URL). The group is seeking candidates to apply for an FPI doctoral scholarship, linked to a recently awarded research project (PID2020-113661GB-I00) from MICINN. The student will develop new chemical transformations based on hypervalent halogen and other main group elements, with a focus on site-selective C-H coupling.

Candidates are expected to hold an undergraduate and a masters degree in Chemistry, or be in a position to obtain one shortly. Prior experience in organic or inorganic synthesis, catalysis or methodology will be a plus.

Motivation, curiosity for chemistry and good observational skills

Ability to connect experimental data and theory

Good work ethics

Fluent written and oral communication in English


This is a pre-announcement of a call expected to be published in mid-October via Spain’s Ministry of Science and Innovation. We aim is to identify suitable candidates before to the call opening.
