Updated: over 2 years ago
Job Type: FullTime
Deadline: 11 Sep 2021

The I2CAT Foundation is looking for a post-doc researcher to apply for a MSCA Fellowhip in order to work on IoT & VR Topics. More information about MSCA Call here .

In the past few years, and especially during these pandemic days, a strong focus has been built up for interactive technologies that can recreate real life scenarios remotely.

Unprecedented immersive and interactive environments with remote accessibility have become ideal when physical attendance is practically impossible. Relevant technologies to achieve this include Virtual/Augmented/eXtended Reality (VR/AR/XR) scenarios, volumetric (holo-) conferencing, interactive shared experiences and IoT.

i2CAT (Barcelona, Spain) is opening a postdoctoral position to advance the research field in immersive technologies. The research will be focused on the design, development and evaluation of interactive VR/AR/XR scenarios with IoT capabilities, resembling hyper-realistic training environments.

The ideal candidate masters one, or more, of the following research fields:

  • VR/AR/XR
  • Digital Twins
  • IoT architectures and protocols
  • Multi-sensory media experiences
  • User Experience

It is expected that the work to be carried out will result in high-quality prototypes, scientific publications and even potentially standard(-compliant) contributions. The candidate will be integrated with an experienced cross-disciplinary team, and closely interact with relevant industry and academic partners under the umbrella of national and european projects.

Candidates should prove an experienced track record of publications, and ideally participation in research and industry projects.
