The IrsiCaixa AIDS Research Institute located on the Hospital Germans Trias I Pujol research campus has an opening in the Cellular Immunity and Host Genetics group for a Bioinformatics position to participate in the investigation of the impact that HIV and COVID-19 infections have at the peripheral blood and central nervous system level.

The main objective of the project is the identification of the epigenetics, transcriptomics and proteomics cascades triggered upon either of these viral infections and definition of potential biomarkers predictive of HIV and SARS-CoV2 related diseases and response to new therapeutic targets.

Under the direction of the principal investigator and associate researchers, the applicant carries out daily in-silico activities framed in the context of different projected funded by European, and other international and national grants.

Details: Omics data analysis for epigenetic (DNA-methylomes), transcriptomics (RNAseq and scRNAseq), TCRs repertoire and proteomics will be the major tasks to develop for the identification of epigenetic mechanisms, biomarkers and therapeutic targets at peripheral blood and cerebrospinal fluid.
