As a key office anchored in the vibrant research culture and environment within NTU, we are seeking a Senior Executive Officer in Research Grant Administration to bolster the collective effort to consolidate and further advance NTU’s research standing and capabilities. He/she will support NTU faculty so that they can conduct their research effectively with compliance to regulations governing research fund management.

You will support in the administration of research grants and other research-related matters handled by the NTU Research Support Office. This includes coordination of grant calls with the Colleges and Schools in the University, assisting researchers and faculty in their grant submission and grant post award activities like reporting submissions, assisting researchers to understand grant agencies’ guidelines and coordination of review panel meetings.

Responsibilities:

  • Administrative support for various A*STAR Grants

  • Support in A*STAR grant calls including drafting of grant call announcements to faculty, advising PIs and school administrators on funding guidelines, work processes and grant call opportunities.

  • Provide guidance to faculty and School administrators to better understand the grant requirements through checklists or guides or standardized forms

  • Facilitate on the budget scrubbing process prior to the award of the project

  • Coordinate internal review panel meeting to shortlist proposals, when required

  • Assist awarded PIs with their letters of award and facilitating research account opening

  • Support the team to manage post award requests from faculty for their research grants (i.e. variation requests, report submissions), in accordance to the T&Cs of the research grants awarded)

  • Provide support and guidance for RISE (Research Information System) and iGrant related enquiries

  • Support in preparation of reports and statistical data

  • Involve in ad-hoc initiatives undertaken by the Office

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor degree from recognised university with at least 1 to 2 years relevant work experience

  • Preference will be given to candidates who have held administrative positions in a central office within a large organization

  • High competency in Microsoft applications

  • Good writing, communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent organizational, time management and planning skills.

  • Highly motivated individual with strong analytic skills, a keen eye for details, can multi-task and work independently as well as on a team

  • Willing to learn on the job.
