Job Description

You will be part of the Office of Student Conduct (OSC) supporting the Associate Provost (Student Conduct) to work with stakeholders in administering student conduct policies and coordinating student conduct procedures, including disciplinary hearings.
 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the preliminary evaluation of disciplinary offences reported by Academic and Non-Academic units by assisting them in interpreting the prevailing guidelines for student discipline and sanctions, and directing them to the respective disciplinary bodies for adjudication
  • Liaise closely with partner departments/units such as Office of Student Affairs, NUS Care Unit, Office of Legal Affairs, University Communications Office, Office of Risk Management and Compliance to ensure a high level of integrated and coordinated administrative support for managing student discipline
  • Provide administrative and secretariat support to the University’s Board of Discipline (BOD) and Disciplinary Appeals Board (DAB)
  • Support the overall activities of OSC in areas of:
    - rehabilitative support for offenders
    - educational modules for staff and students
    - facilitator training programmes for staff managing student disciplinary matters
    - proper documentation and storage of records and maintenance of OSC website
    - data and information collation for Report on Complaints of Sexual Misconduct
  • Other duties assigned by Associate Provost (Student Conduct)

Qualifications
  • Recognised university degree
  • At least 2-3 years of relevant work experience.  Fresh graduates are welcomed to apply
  • Knowledge of / Experience in student counselling / discipline / development processes in a higher education environment preferred
  • Professional qualifications in counselling, dispute adjudication, conflict resolution will be an added advantage
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • Experience in / Exposure to student records systems will be an advantage

  • First-rate communication and presentation skills
  • Resilient, resourceful, and work well under pressure
