Job Description

The Dean's Office, Faculty of Science, is seeking a highly motivated, passionate individual to join our team. The incumbent will play a vital role in providing efficient and timely research grant administration and administrative support for faculty members at the Faculty of Science. He or she will be part of the Research Administration team that facilitates smooth execution of funded projects across all phases of the grant lifecycle. This would directly contribute towards establishing the foundation for potential scientific breakthroughs, ultimately making a positive impact on society.

Areas of responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: 
(a) Offer comprehensive administration for research grant accounts, overseeing the entire process from initial application to final project completion, while adhering to grant protocols and guidelines. This ensures the seamless execution of funded projects at every stage.
(b) Collaborate closely with academic staff, management and University offices to address and manage administrative matters pertaining to grants. 
(c) Contribute to the coordination and provision of logistical assistance for the facilitation of grants and award meetings. 
(d) Elevate research visibility through strategic publicity initiatives to promote scientific breakthroughs from faculty members. 
(e) Promote research collaboration by organising thematic workshops and seminars, fostering connections both internally and externally.
(f) Play a key role in maintaining and enriching the faculty research website through content creation and updates.

(g) Undertake various additional administrative tasks as assigned to ensure the smooth operation of research-related activities. 


Qualifications/Requirements/Other Info

- Degree holder, preferably in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, science or engineering. 
- Prior experience in grant or research administration would be advantageous.
- Demonstrates strong proficiency in logical analysis, writing and articulation, coupled with critical thinking and social communication skills. 
- Ability to work independently, but also in a team, with self awareness in meeting deadlines.
- Familiarity with SAP S/4 HANA system is an advantage, but is not essential. 
- Familiarity with web design is an advantage, but is not essential. 
 

 

- Remuneration is based on a 12-month salary structure, with annual variable bonus which is subject to incumbent’s performance and the University/School’s prevailing remuneration policies.

- The incumbent will be emplaced at an appropriate appointment grade based on his/her individual merits.

- To expedite application processing, a copy of academic certificates and transcripts from GCE O-level onwards should be uploaded via the online application portal.
