Job Description

The NUS School of Computing (SOC) traces its roots back to the Nanyang University Department of Computer Science that was established in 1975. Since then, SOC has developed into one of the leading computing schools in the world, with faculty members who are both internationally recognised researchers and inspiring teachers. Today, SOC offers undergraduate and graduate degree programmes across the full spectrum of the field of computing, including Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Business Analytics and Information Security, as well as specialisations in emerging areas of importance such as artificial intelligence, fintech, blockchain, analytics and security.

 

You will report to the Head of the NUS School of Computing Research Office and works closely with the research grant administration team to manage both internally funded as well as externally funded research grants from government agencies and industries. The candidate will receive training and the opportunity to carry out assignments in the following areas:

  • Act as the primary liaison in the preparation and submission of project proposals, agreements, budget plans and reports.

  • Administer research grants and reconcile accounts statements. 

  • Monitor the research project funds utilization and provide periodic updates.

  • Coordinate with grantors, track the receipt of funds, prepare documents for audit and process payments and claims.

  • Coordinate the re-appointments of research staff and the engagement of students. 

  • Liaise with researchers and vendors on the procurement of goods and services.

  • Serve as secretariat for meetings and prepare presentation material.

  • Coordinate the publicity and logistics preparation for conferences and workshops.


Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree with no work experience or Polytechnic Diploma with work experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Demonstrate initiative and good interpersonal communication skills

  • Good writing skills 

  • Analytical, numerate, resourceful and energetic 

  • Able to multi-task and deliver under tight deadlines

  • Strong sense of customer service
