The PhD student will work for 18 months in the “Synthesis of Fluorinated Biomolecules” group (UMR 6014 COBRA-CNRS), directed by Professor Philippe Jubault then in the group of Prof. Congyang Wang (Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (Bejing, China), http://159.226.64.162/web/31408/professor ). In Rouen, the group includes 7 researchers and professors and around 20 to 22 thesis students and post-doctoral researchers. The laboratory is located at IRCOF in Rouen (CNRS, university and INSA of Rouen), France.
The researcher will work with Dr. Tatiana Besset (CNRS Researcher, contact: [email protected] ) in collaboration with Prof. Congyang Wang from the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (Bejing, China), http://159.226.64.162/web/31408/professor ). His/her research work is dedicated to the development of new strategies for the synthesis of enantioenriched fluorinated compounds using state-of-the-art technologies.
To address the concerns of our society, the development of eco-responsible transformations, in particular based on catalysis with non-noble metals, is a hot topic. Nowadays, organofluorine chemistry is a research area of prime importance because molecules containing fluorine are compounds of interest for agrochemistry, pharmacy and materials science. Therefore, the search for new methodologies to efficiently introduce various fluorinated groups to access a panel of novel fluorine-containing building blocks makes this field of research very attractive to scientists. Recently, our “Synthesis of fluorinated molecules” research group in Rouen succeeded in designing innovative transformations considering these two elements of interest. Aiming at pushing back the limits of knowledge in highly competitive fields of research at the forefront of innovation organofluorine chemistry and homogeneous catalysis), the development of modern and sustainable tools based on cutting-edge technologies will be studied for the synthesis of enantioenriched fluorinated compounds.
