The evaluation takes into account the candidate’s application and qualifications, the letter of motivation, and the letter of recommendation.
Applications considered admissible will be scored on a scale of 1 to 20 in each of the following evaluation criteria:
Criterion A – Merit of the applicant (50%)
Subcriterion A1 – Scientific, cultural or technological production (books, book chapters, theses, papers in indexed journals, presentations in national and international scientific events) (15%)
Subcriterion A2 – Final classification of the Graduate course (20%)
Subcriterion A3 – Participation in scientific projects (5%)
Subcriterion A4 – Organization of scientific events (5%)
Subcriterion A5 – Recognition of the scientific community (awards, fellowships, editorial activities, peer reviewing) (5%)
Criterion B – Motivation letter (40%)
Criterion C – Letter of recommendation (10%).
In the possible case of a tie-break, candidates will be ranked according to the ratings assigned to each of the evaluation criteria in the following order of precedence: criterion A, criterion B, criterion C.
Important notice to candidates who hold diplomas issued by foreign higher education institutions: Applicants with recognized foreign degrees (or whose recognition has been requested by the end of the application deadline) but without proof of conversion of the grade to the Portuguese classification scale will be assessed with a classification of 14 (fourteen) values in subcriterion A2.
Candidates whose application is evaluated with a final classification below 16 points are not eligible for the scholarship.
Evaluation Panel:
Chair: André Santos Campos, IFILNOVA
1st member: Susana Cadilha, IFILNOVA
2nd member: Gabriele de Angelis, IFILNOVA
Substitute Member: Giovanni Damele, FCSH-UNL
The results of the evaluation will be publicized by e-mail to all candidates, through a list ordered by the final grade obtained.
