Scholarship (m/f) Life Cycle Assessment – GAVIAO

We are looking for a Master in the area of Life Cycle Assessment (m/f) to join the R&Di Department of the Instituto de Soldadura e Qualidade (ISQ), in Oeiras, Portugal.

This opportunity is part of the Low Carbon and Resource Efficiency Unit (BCER), which develops applied research in the field of sustainability assessment and resource efficiency (eco-efficiency) applied to different systems, processes and emerging products, namely in the GAVIÃO Project - Research and Development of Technologies for the Production of Large-Scale Aircraft Components.

The GAVIÃO project has as its main objective the research and development of new manufacturing processes outside the autoclave for composite materials, which are financially and ecologically more sustainable.

Specifically and in this context, the scholarship holder must perform the following tasks:

• Life Cycle Assessment (LCA);
• Life Cycle Cost Assessment (LCC);
• Eco-efficiency analysis studies;
• Writing technical-scientific reports.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Management, Mechanical Engineering and similar.
• Experience in research, scientific publications, and collaboration with partners and/or Industry.
• Experience/knowledge of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and/or Life Cycle Cost Assessment (LCC).
• Knowledge in applications for research projects or proposals;
• Life cycle assessment (LCA) software domain(s): SimaPro, and/or OpenLCA.
• Proficiency in English, written and spoken;
• The selected candidate must be enrolled (or enroll) in one of the two options:

a) Course(s) not awarding an academic degree and not to exceed, with the conclusion of the scholarship contract in question an accumulated period of two years in this type of scholarship, consecutive or interpolated.

b) Doctoral course.

• Ease of communication and good interpersonal skills;
• Resilience, proactivity and critical sense;
• High organizational and planning capacity;
• Driving license.
