Workplan:  Robotics in Autism have been developed in the last 25 years, tackling the development of motor, social and cognitive capabilities. Several children with autism show behaviours towards robots that neurotypical children have towards neurotypical adults. However, robots are still not present in clinical practice. One of the main reasons is the lack of quantitative measures for the evaluation of these studies, which normally are graded based on a therapist's opinion. On the other hand, there are few randomized controlled trials which can prove the efficacy of the robotic protocols in relation to the standard therapies. This thesis pretends to analyse several pilot studies and a randomized control trial, through a quantitative measure to understand how a robotic protocol can impact the attention of the children during a therapeutic session. The methods use comprehend computer vision, motion analysis, gaze estimation from video, robotics, control, and machine learning.
