Research Student Fellowship (BI – Master) - Multiquarks

LIP opens a call for selection of fellows for one Research Student Fellowship (BI – Master) for participation in the project “The Structure of Multiquarks”, reference CERN/FIS-PAR/0023/2021, funded by FCT/MCTES through national funds (State Budget – OE).

Work plan:

Understanding the partonic structure of hadrons is a major goal in view of forthcoming high-energy-scattering experiments. The quantities of interest are (generalized) parton distributions, which encode the momentum, spin and orbital angular momentum distributions of quarks and gluon inside hadrons. The goal of this project is to explore a new method to calculate parton distributions using functional methods. The selected candidate will develop a code to compute hadron-to-hadron correlators, taking advantage of recent progress using contour deformations.

Legislation:

A fellowship contract will be established according to the “Regulations for Research Grants of the Foundation for Science and Technology” (https://dre.pt/application/conteudo/127238533 ) and to the Status of Scientific Research Fellow (Law nº 40/2004 de 18 de Agosto, and its successive amendments).

Duration:

The fellowship has a duration of 3 months, eventually renewable until a maximum of 6 months, with a foreseen starting date on May 1, 2022.
