Research Initiation Scholarship (BII)

Work Plan

(i) Animal feeding and hygiene maintenance,

(ii) Collection and storage of biological samples,

(iii) Data records of weighing and biometric assessments

(iV) Collection of animal welfare and health indicators.

The scholarship lasts for one month, starting on 31.08.2022 and ending on 30.09.2022.

486,12 Euros. The payment will be made by bank transfer.

- be enrolled in a professional higher technical course, a degree, an integrated master's or a master's degree, aiming at the beginning of its scientific training through the integration in R&D projects, in the scientific area of Animal or Veterinarian Science and similar;

- May also be a graduate enrolled in a course not awarding an academic degree integrated in the educational project of a higher education institution, developed in association or cooperation with one or more R&D units.

- Cannot exceed, with the conclusion of the scholarship contract in question, an accumulated period of one year in this scholarship typology, followed or interpolated.

- Cannot have benefited from research grants directly or indirectly financed by the FCT, awarded under the terms of the Research Grant Holder Statute.

The applications must include the following documents:

- Academic qualifications certificate;

- Proof of enrollment in a degree-granting or non-degree course;

- Motivation letter addressed to the President of the jury;

- Curriculum vitae.

The application period will be of 5 working days, from 25/07/2022 until 29/07/2022.

Selection Criteria

- Academic assessment (40%);

- Experience in field work (25%);

- Experience in laboratory work (25%);

- Teamwork experience (5%);

- Candidate's motivation to participate in the project (5%).
