Offer Description

Summary: There is an open call for one (1) Research Initiation Grant (“Bolsa de Iniciação à Investigação”) at Instituto de Telecomunicações, in the scope of the Project BIT2023-ES.

Implementation of tools and protocols required for the deployment of use cases related with the research contract with A-to-B in the general area of cooperative, connected and automated mobility.

Scientific Area: Networks and Services

Group: Embedded Systems – Av

Work Objectives: 1. Implementation of protocols, tools, and applications for use cases supported by vehicular communications. 2. Development/evolution of vehicular communication protocols. 3. Preparation of documentation, including technical reports and scientific papers, and participation in writing project deliverables.

Place of work: The work will be developed at the premises of Instituto de Telecomunicações at University of Aveiro, under the supervision of Prof. Joaquim Ferreira.

Duration: 6 months, with the possibility of renewal. This type of scholarship has a maximum duration of 1 year. Start date: April 2024 or soon thereafter.

Admission Requirements:

Research Initiation Grants are intended:

• for students enrolled in a professional higher technical course, undergraduate degree, integrated master's degree, or master's degree, to undertake initial R&D activities, with a view to beginning their scientific training through integration in R&D projects to be developed in national institutions.
• for students carrying out initial R&D activities who are enrolled in non-degree courses integrated in the educational project of a higher education institution, developed in association or cooperation with one or more R&D units.

Candidates must be enrolled in a higher professional technical course, a bachelor's degree, an integrated master’s, or a master's degree in the areas of Electronics and Telecommunications engineering, Computers and Telematics Engineering, Informatics Engineering or equivalent.

Benefits

Monthly salary: 601.12€ according to the table of grant amounts awarded directly by FCT for positions held in Portugal (www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores ). The payment will be made by bank transfer.
