Offer Description

A Research Grant under the project AGROVILA - Organisation of family farming through digital processes for the development of short agri-food circuits, with code PRR C05 i03 I 000166, coordinated by the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra, funded by IFAP, through the Recovery and Resilience Programme (RRP).

The purpose of the scholarship is to collaborate in different tasks in the context of the Activity Plan established in the project where the present Research Scholarship is inserted, namely:

  • Technical-scientific management of the Project;
  • Awareness raising and involvement in the project of farmers and technicians from different regions of the country;
  • Facilitation of meetings, training sessions and other dynamisation and follow-up activities foreseen in the project;
  • Study and definition of organisational systems/business models to support the viability of agri-food short circuits in digital format;
  • Dissemination and communication.

    • Enrolment in a master's degree or non-degree course integrated in the educational project of a higher education institution;
    • If the candidate holds a higher education degree obtained abroad, he/she must have the respective degree recognition, if applicable;
    • Oral and written fluency in Portuguese and English;
    • Computer skills in the user's perspective;
    • Knowledge and/or experience in collective marketing systems for agricultural products;
    • Knowledge and/or experience in defining business models adapted to small businesses;
    • Experience in facilitating multi-actor meetings and training activities.

    Benefits

    A scholarship, on an exclusive basis, has a duration of 12 months, possibly renewable for identical periods, when permitted by regulation, until the end date of the project, within the limits established in the IPC Scholarship Holder Regulation

    The amount of the scholarship corresponds to 930.98 euros; the payment is made monthly by bank transfer.

    To this amount is added the voluntary social insurance corresponding to the first step, if the candidate chooses to enrol, and personal accident insurance will also be required.

      Applications must include the following information:

    • Duly completed application form, available on the website dedicated to this competition procedure;
    • Letter of motivation from the candidate addressed to the Chair of the Selection Board;
    • Dated and signed curriculum vitae;
    • Copy of the qualification certificates. Applicants with foreign qualifications must provide proof of their foreign academic degree and diploma in accordance with Decree-Law no. 66/2018 of 16 August;
    • Document proving enrolment and registration in the master's degree or non-degree course, which may be made at a later date than the application, provided that it is prior to the contractualization of the scholarship;
    • Proof of the data contained in the CV.

    Selection process

    The application period will be of 10 working days, starting on 08/09/2023 and ending on 21/09/2023.

    Applications must be delivered exclusively in digital format, in portable document format (pdf), with the exception of documents whose delivery is scheduled in other digital formats.

    The assessment criterion, focusing on the merit of the candidates, comprises the following parameters according to the following formula (weighted sum of the items indicated below, out of a maximum of 100):

    • Academic degree in social, agricultural or interdisciplinary sciences or a related field (30 points);
    • Oral and written proficiency in Portuguese and English (10 points);
    • User-friendly computer skills (10 points);
    • Knowledge and/or experience in organisational systems in the marketing of agricultural products (20 points);
    • Knowledge and/or experience in defining business models adapted to small businesses (20 points);
    • Proven experience in facilitating multi-actor meetings and organising training (10 points);

    Tie-breaker criteria: Ranking in an interview to assess the candidate's motivation, verbal and written fluency in English, autonomy and initiative, ability to analyse and critical sense.

    The results of the evaluation will be published within 90 working days from the deadline for submission of applications, by sending a communication to the candidates, via email.
