It is available an application for the attribution of one (1) Research Grant (BI), for a master’s degree holder, from February 26th to March 8th of 2024, under the project “Governação, Inovação e Arranjos Institucionais na Administração  Portuguesa - GovAPP”, Unit UIDB/00713/2020, to be developed in the Centre for Public Administration and Public Policies (CAPP) of the Institute for Social and Political Sciences of the University of Lisbon (ISCSP-ULisboa).

Admission requirements (cumulative):

- Master’s Degree;

- Frequency of a PhD in Administration Science, Political Science, Public Administration, Sociology of Organizations.

 

Working plan:

- Collaborate in the administrative organization and development of the CAPP of ISCSP-ULisboa research project, “Governação, Inovação e Arranjos Institucionais na Administração Pública Portuguesa - GovAPP”;

- Develop project management’s support activities;

- Compile and organize project databases (documentary collection and empirical data);

- Carry out bibliographical and documentary research;

- Support the collection and analysis of project data;

- Support the writing and review of scientific texts within the scope of the project;

- Carry out research work and present outputs within the scope of the project.

Workplace:

The activities will be developed in CAPP of ISCSP-ULisboa, under the scientific supervision of Professor Sandra Isabel Rasteiro Firmino.

 

Grant duration:

The grant will last until December 31st 2024, expected to start on May 1st of 2024, and may be renewed under the terms foreseen in Regulation of Research Grants of FCT an University of Lisbon. The maximum duration of the contract to be established between ISCSP-ULisboa and the selected applicant is entirely linked to the duration of the project being on its basis, not exceeding its duration.

 

Monthly Maintenance Allowance:

The amount of the monthly maintenance allowance corresponds to € 1 259.64, according to the current table of values of grants awarded directly by FCT, I.P. (www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores ). To the value of the monthly subsidy is added the payment of the charges resulting from the contributions that fall on the first of the steps referred to in article 36 of Decree-Law nº 40/89, of February 1st , regarding the Voluntary Social Insurance, whose adhesion is the responsibility of the fellow.

 

Selection Methods:

Applicants will be ranked on a scale from 0 to 100 values.

The selection of candidates will be based on the Curricular Evaluation (50%) and the Interview (50%).

  • The curricular evaluation will be weighed as follows:
  • Knowledge of data analysis, preferably using specific software (17,5%);
  • Area of knowledge and average obtained in the master’s degree (15%);
  • Knowledge of research methodology and scientific writing rules (10%);
  • Previous participation and experience in research project teams (7,5%).
  • The interview will be weighed as follows:
  • Predisposition to carry out research work (15%);
  • Proficiency in Portuguese and English at an advanced level (12,5%);
  • Demonstrated affinity with the project’s theme (10%);
  • Motivation for obtaining the grant (7,5%);
  • Communication and interpersonal relationship skills (5%).

    Notification Process of Results:

    The final results of the evaluation will be publicized on an alphabetically ordered list, posted in a visible and public place of ISCSP-ULisboa. The approved candidate will be notified by email.

     

    Application date:

    The application is available from February 26th to March 8th of 2024.

     

    Application presentation:

    The applications must be formalized, mandatorily, accompanied by the following documents:

  • Application letter with the identification of the candidate and procedure to which it relates;
  • Documents proving that the candidate meets the admission requirements, namely a copy of the qualification certificate of the Bachelor's and Master’s degree, with final average obtained;
  • Detailed Curriculum Vitae;
  • Document proving enrolment in the PhD’s degree;
  • Declaration under oath that there is no professional or service provision activity that violates the duty of exclusive dedication;
  • Copy of the civil identification document and, whenever applicable, copy of the proof of residence permit or other legally equivalent document;
  • Motivation letter;
  • Documents proving compliance with admission requirements, namely the factors of curriculum evaluation criteria;
  • Other supporting documents considered relevant for the application process.

    Academic degrees obtained in foreign countries require registration by a Portuguese Institution, in accordance with Decree-Law n.º 66/2018, of August 16th , and Ordinance n.º 33/2019, of January 25th .
