Offer Description

At the Lisbon School of Architecture of Universidade de Lisboa (FA.ULisboa), there is an open call for the award of 1 (one) Research scholarship for PhD Student or Master degree level holders enrolled in a non academic degree course, financed exclusively by the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, I. P. (FCT, I.P.)/MCTES, under the Project MASTI (PTDC/GES-TRA/3353/2020), to develop activities in the research group UrbinLab of the Center for Research in Architecture, Urbanism and Design (CIAUD).

The grant is scheduled to start in April/May, 2024. The contract, with a duration of 9 (nine) months, on an exclusive basis, without renewal.

The Research scholarship will allow the development of research activities predicted in the research plan of the MASTI project, specifically evaluation of socio-territorial inequalities created by the implementation of Mobility as a Service in Lisbon Metropolitan Area.

The Research scholarship will develop research predicted in tasks:

a) Carry out the qualitative evaluation of socio-territorial inequalities of MaaS, through the organization of focus groups;

b) Development of strategies to integrate shared mobility and public transport, through the organization of workshops;

c) Support the dissemination of the project;

d)  The researcher will colaborate in the writing of several scientific articles in english, as well as abstracts to submit to conferences;

e) Oral presentations in national and international conferences are also predicted, and support materials will have to be developed.

Amount of monthly maintenance allowance and Social Security:

1 - The value of the monthly maintenance allowance corresponds to € 1.259,64 (one thousand two hundred and fifty-nine euros and sixty-four cents), paid monthly by bank transfer, under the terms of the FCT Research Grant Regulation, IP, published through the Regulation no. 950/2019 in the Diário da República, 2nd series, no. 241, of 16 December, and available at the link:

2 - The grant holder to be hired may exercise his right to social security, by joining the voluntary social insurance regime, under the terms set out in the Research Grant Holder Statute, with the funding entities assuming the costs resulting from the contributions provided for in that Statute.

- Enrolment in the PhD course in Urbanism, Geography, or in a related area, or, alternatively, enrolment in a non-degree course, in either case in the 2023/2024 academic year.


Selection process

The selection methods will include a Curricular Evaluation (CE) and, if the Jury considers it necessary, a Selection Interview (SI).

If the jury decides to carry out the selection interview, only the three best classified in the CE will be interviewed. In this case, the final evaluation of the candidates will have the following weighting: 75% CE + 25% SI.
