Participation in projects and initiatives involving the marine environment of the Azores;

ii. Experience in planning, monitoring and decision support tools relating to marine and coastal biodiversity, namely in planning, designing and monitoring marine protected areas;

iii. Knowledge of the regional legal framework of marine affairs in the Azores, namely the implementation and requirements of EU directives associated with the conservation and management of the marine environment, such as the Birds and Habitats Directives, the Marine Strategy Framework Directive and the Marine Spatial Planning Directive;

iv. Knowledge about the marine environment of the Azores including the coastal, deep sea and open ocean ecosystems, as well as existing types and sources of information;

v. Great ability to work independently, in international and multidisciplinary teams, and to meet deadlines.
