Stipend in accordance to the Portuguese Science Foundation salary scale, €1104,64 per month (net) (https://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/docs/RegulamentoBolsasFCT2019.pdf ), paid by bank transfer.

Insurance costs (Seguro Social Voluntário and Seguro de Acidentes Pessoais) are supported by the employer.

Acceptance of the fellowship is exclusive of any other professional or research activity (Art. 5 of the Research Fellowship Holder Statute).


The selection criteria are the following:

1. Applicant´s Merit (AM) (weight 70%) will be evaluated accordingly the following criteria:

     1.1. Academic Qualification or level of qualification certified by the competent authorities (up to 50 points);

     1.2. Previous experience (up to 20 points);

     1.3. Complementary Skills(up to 30 points), declared and/or proven will be evaluated and include: native domain of the European Portuguese; complementary training in linguistics; scientific activity (papers, communications, etc.) in Linguistics; experience in collecting linguistic data; experience in processing linguistic data; experience in computer knowledge from the user's perspective; experience of integration in research teams; relevant training in other knowledge fields; a report of the research project to be done under the PhD program (up to 1000 words);

2. Interview (I) (weight 30%).

Final classification = AM (70%) + I (30%)

Applications evaluated below 15 values (0-20) will not be eligible for funding

Candidates with diplomas issued by foreign higher education institutions will be evaluated with the same criteria as candidates with diplomas issued by Portuguese institutions, provided that they present, with their application, proof of recognition of their academic degrees and of conversion of the final classification to a Portuguese rating scale under the applicable legislation.

Candidates with a duly recognized diploma but who do not present proof of conversion of the final classification to a Portuguese scale will be evaluated with the minimum classification (10 points) in sub-criteria 1.1.

Preliminary decisions will be posted at the FLUL website. Selected candidate(s) will be notified by e-mail. Applicants may submit queries or complaints about the decisions within a ten-weekday period. Final decisions must be announced within 90 weekdays of the application deadline and up to 60 weekdays after the end of the query and complaint deadline.

In case of non-acceptance by the selected candidates, the grant may be offered to any of the other ranked applicants within 18 months of the final announcement
