Offer Description

Work Plan: The project aims to develop functionalized ionic liquids, and the functionalization of ionic-liquidbased aqueous biphasic systems, for biological applications. The selected fellow will have the opportunity to develop an innovative research work, involving a multidisciplinary approach, with emphasis on the determination of aqueous biphasic systems (ABS), proteins and VLPs partition, the study of protein-ionic liquid interactions, the study of protein stability and VLPs integrity, and development of purification systems in microfluidics and countercurrent chromatography.

Fellowship duration: The scholarship will have a duration of 9 months, starting in April 2024. The scholarship contract may eventually be renewed within the term of the project.

Application deadline and form of application submission: Application is open from March 20th to April 03th, 2024.

Documentation to be provided for application: Applications must be formalized, mandatorily, by sending the following documents: Curriculum Vitae, motivation letter, certificate of qualifications, and other relevant supporting documents, namely proof of enrolled in a cycle of studies leading to the attainment of the academic degree of doctor or a non-academic degree course integrated in an educational project of a Higher Education Institution. The documents proving this situation must be presented, at the latest, until the stage of contracting the scholarship, and before that they can be replaced by a declaration of honour.

* In case of foreign academic degrees, and to guarantee the application of the principle of equal treatment to applicants with national and foreign academic degrees, it is mandatory to submit the recognition of such degrees and the conversion of the respective final grade to the Portuguese grading scale.

Applications must be formalised: Applications must be sent by email to [email protected] (Doctor João M. M. Araújo).

Documentation to be provided in the context of contracting: Proof of enrollment in a PhD study cycle or enrollment in courses not awarding an academic degree; documents proving the holding of academic degrees and diplomas, or the respective recognition when they have been awarded by foreign higher education institutions.
