Notice of opening of tender procedure for 1 Research Scholarship - VICARTE

It is open for competition for the period of 1 Research Fellowship within the scope of the R&D institution VICARTE, (UIDP / 00729/2020) financed by national funds through the Foundation for Science and Technology, IP, under the following conditions:

1. Scientific Area:

Conservation and restoration - Conservation and restoration specialized in Glass and Ceramics

2. Category / profile of recipients:

Mandatory requirements:

Bachelor in Conservation and Restoration - specialized in Glass and Ceramics conservation

Preferred factors will be:

i) experience in conservation and restoration of ceramics and glass

ii) technical and practical knowledge in the field of conservation and restoration of ceramics and glass

iii) technical and practical knowledge of the materials used in the conservation and restoration of ceramics and glass

iv) experience and demonstrated work ability in multidisciplinary teams.

v) Experience in conservation and restoration of archaeological ceramics and glass

3. Work plan:

The fellow will participate in the following activities of the research unit: 1) Conservation and Restoration of archaeological glass set or sets; 2) Preparation of archaeological glass for analysis; 3) Preparation of a preventive conservation plan for the set or sets of intervened archaeological glass; 4) Prepare the packaging for the intervened archaeological glass.

4. Applicable legislation and regulations:

5. Workplace:

The work will be carried out at the Glass and Ceramics Research Unit for the Arts (VICARTE) of NOVA School of Science and, under the scientific guidance of the Professor Inês Coutinho and Professor Márcia Vilarigues, the contracting entity being NOVA.id.FCT – FCT's Association for Innovation and Development.

6. Duration of scholarship(s):

The fellowship will last for 3 months, starting in February 2022 eventually renewable within the term of the project.

7. Amount of monthly maintenance allowance:

The amount of the scholarship corresponds to € 835.98, having as reference the table of values of the scholarships awarded directly by FCT, I.P. in the country, with payment being made monthly by bank transfer.

8. Selection methods:

The selection methods to be used will be as follows: The selection methods to be used will be the following: A) scientific merit of the candidate (including experience in preferred factors i) to vi): 60%; B) interview: 40%.

9. Composition of the Selection Jury:

Professor Inês Coutinho (chairman), Professor Márcia Vilarigues (effective member), Doutora Susana Coentro (effective member); Doutora Andreia Ruivo (alternate), Professora Doutora Joana Lia Ferreira (alternate).

10. Form of advertising/notification of results:

The jury's draft decision will be notified, within 90 days after the deadline for the submission of applications, by email, providing access to the minutes and to the provisional ranking list.

After notification, candidates will have 10 working days to comment on the draft decision, in the context of a prior hearing of interested parties, under the terms of the Code of Administrative Procedure. The final decision will be taken after the expiry of the prior hearing period, again notified to all candidates by email, with a claim being made, within 15 working days (to the email address used for the notification), or appeal, within 30 working days, addressed to NOVA.ID.FCT's Management through the address [email protected] .

11. Deadline for application and form of submission of applications:

The tender is open on 11th to 24st de January 2022
