The Instituto Nacional de Saúde Doutor Ricardo Jorge, I.P. (INSA), Epidemiology Department, opens a call for the attribution of a Research Grant to candidates (M/F) with a degree, under the project of External Quality Assessment PNAEQ/Labquality, reference DEP/AEQ-PNAEQ/LABQOy/01/2023, designated by “Project of Improvement and Monitorization of Laboratory Performance” ProjMMDL, co-financed by LABQUALITY and INSA.

The conditions for opening the research grant call are as follows:

 

Scientific Area: Health Sciences and related  

 

Admission Requirements:

 

Students, enrolled in a master's degree, in the scientific areas indicated above, aiming at the consolidation of their scientific training through the development of research work leading to the obtaining of the respective academic degree, whether or not integrated in R&D projects.


Specific Requirements

The following requirements will be preference factors:

 

● Good knowledge in clinical microbiology, clinical chemistry and hematology

● Knowledge in clinical analysis

● Knowledge in statistics

● Knowledge and experience in handling biological samples

● Knowledge of activities inherent to AEQ programs

● Good computer skills from the user's perspective

● Excellent knowledge of the English language (written and oral)

● High sense of responsibility;

● Ease of relationship, communication and teamwork;

● Immediate availability.

Benefits

Monthly maintenance allowance amount:

The value of the scholarship corresponds to €930.98 (nine hundred and thirty euros and ninety eight cents), according to the FCT, I.P. (https://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores ), under the terms established in the Research Fellowship Statute, approved by Portuguese Law nº 123/2019, of 18 August, and Personal Accident Insurance or equivalent.


Eligibility criteria

Students, enrolled in a master's degree, in the scientific areas indicated above, aiming at the consolidation of their scientific training through the development of research work leading to the obtaining of the respective academic degree, whether or not integrated in R&D projects.


Selection process

Selection Methods:

The assessment will focus on the assessment of academic training and professional experience in the areas indicated above. The evaluation process will include two phases. First, the candidate's CV and motivation will be evaluated. Subsequently, candidates who gather, in this first evaluation, a classification of not less than 14 points, on a scale of 0 to 20 points, will be invited to an interview to assess their knowledge and skills. The weighting for the final assessment will be 60% for the curriculum evaluation and 40% for the interview.

Work plan:

 

  • Integration in the activities developed in the PNAEQ (National Program for External Quality Assessment), planning of EQA programs, handling of control samples, preparation of program documentation, analysis of results and preparation of performance reports;
    • Conducting studies on the homogeneity and stability of the control samples and result analysis;
    • Preparation of annual global program reports;
    • Support for literature review;
    • Writing of reports and scientific articles to disseminate the results obtained;
    • Participation and presentation of results in scientific and project meetings.
