A call for tenders is open for one Initiation Studentship (BII) within the scope of the project Active and Mindful with the reference 101134389, co-financed by the European Commission – ERASMUS + Program, under the following conditions:

Scientific area: Computer engineering

Admission requirements: Enrollment in the Bachelor's degree program in Computing or related fields.

 

Preferred requirements:

Preference will be given to candidates who have:

i) Interest and experience in website creation;

ii) Interest and experience in producing digital media, image editing, content promotion, and in the production and management of digital platforms and channels;

iii) Interest and experience in organizing events for project promotion and communication;

iv) Previous experience in related activities.

 

According to FCT Research Grants Regulation No. 950/2019 of December 16, 2019, article 5, - Research initiation studentship (BII) cannot be awarded to those who have already benefited from research grants directly or indirectly funded by FCT, awarded under the Research Fellowship Statute.

Work plan:

i) Designing the project website and associated resources;

ii) Production of digital media, image editing, content promotion, and production and management of digital platforms and channels;

iii) Project dissemination and communication activities, including social media.

Applicable legislation and regulations: The granting of the Research Scholarship will be carried out upon the signing of a contract between the University of Évora and the scholarship holder, as set in former.fct.pt/apoios/Minuta_Contrato_Bolsa.docx , pursuant to the Research Scholarship Statute (Law No. 40/2004 of August 18 and Decree-Law No. 123/2019 of August 28) and in accordance with the legislation and Regulation of Research Grants of the Foundation for Science and Technology, IP in force, regulation no950/2019 of December 16, 2019 https://files.diariodarepublica.pt/2s/2019/12/241000000/0009100105.pdf and other applicable rules.

Workplace: The work will be carried out at the Comprehensive Health Research Centre of the University of Évora, under the scientific guidance of Professors José Marmeleira, José Saias, and Célia Figueiredo.

Duration of the scholarship: The grant will have a duration of 5 months, with expected start in April 2024.

Monthly maintenance allowance: The grant amount is € 601.12, according to the table of values for scholarship awarded directly by FCT, I.P. in Portugal (https://www.fct.pt/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/Tabela-de-Valores-SMM_atualizacao-2024.pdf ), with payments made monthly by check or bank transfer.

Selection methods: The selection methods to be used will be as follows: curriculum evaluation, weighted at 50%; interview, weighted at 50%.

1st alternate member - Professor Daniela Schmidt,

2nd alternate member - Professor José Parraça.

Publication/notification of results: The final evaluation results will be publicized through a list ordered by the final score posted in a visible and public place at the Comprehensive Health Research Centre of the University of Évora, and the approved candidate will be notified by email. To ensure the right of prior hearing of interested parties, the Final Classification project will be announced by any written means to all interested parties.

After communicating the provisional list of the results of the evaluation, candidates have a period of 10 working days to express their opinion in a preliminary hearing of interested parties.

Application deadline and submission method: The tender is open from February 19 to March 04, 2024 , and the selection results will be published by March 15, 2024 .

Applications must be formalized, mandatory, through the submission of a cover letter accompanied by the following documents: proof of enrollment/attendance in the bachelor’s degree program in computing; Curriculum Vitae; proof of grades for completed courses, and other relevant supporting documents.

For the purposes of application, the evidence may be replaced by a declaration of honor signed by the candidate, but the failure to demonstrate that evidence, in the contracting phase, possession of the required degree on the deadline for application or the non-presentation of proof of enrollment in the study cycle or non-degree course, for scholarships with this component, imply the cancellation of the candidate's application.

Academic degrees obtained in foreign countries require registration by a Portuguese institution in accordance with Decree-Law No. 66/2018, of August 16, and Ordinance No. 33/2019, of January 25.
