Title : COMPETITION FOR GRANTING ONE POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIP - PCIF/GFC/0078/2018 - 3/2021
A tender is open for the attribution of one Postdoctoral Research Scholarship, within the scope of the R&D project "Influence of VOCs (volatile organic compounds) on the extreme behavior of forest fires”, (PCIF/GFC/0078/2018), funded by by “Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia, I.P through national funds (PIDDAC), under the following conditions:
• Physics
• Technology
• Other - Fire Management and Extreme Fire Behavior
The work to be carried out by the candidate aims the identification and location of volatile compounds present in the atmosphere of forests, checking the differences between examples without the presence of fire and examples of time series after the presence of a fire. The objective of this work will be to analyze the data from the Sentinel-5P satellite, through the TROPOMI sensor, processing the level 1B and level 2 data. This analysis will be compared with the data obtained by the FTIR-OP (Fourier-Transform) technique Infrared Spectroscopy Open Field).
Mandatory requirements:
Candidates holding a doctoral degree in Biomedical Eng., Physics Eng., Electrotechnical Eng., Chemistry Eng, or similar, may apply to this grant. Documents proving this situation must be presented, at the latest, up to the stage of contracting of the grant. They may be replaced by a declaration under a commitment of honour.
The registration and/or recognition in Portugal of the doctorate degree will be verified at the time of signing the contract under the provisions of article 25 of Decree-Law No. 66/2018, of 16 August.

Preferred factors:
The experience acquired in the preparation and participation in scientific projects in multidisciplinary areas and in the will also be considered.
The work will be developed in the following areas:

The work will be carried out in the Department of Physics of the Faculty of Science and Technology of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, under the scientific guidance of Professor/Doctor Pedro Manuel Cardoso Vieira, the contracting entity being NOVA.id.FCT – Association for Innovation and Development of FCT.
The fellowship is for an initial period of 6 months, scheduled to start in January 2022.
The scholarship amount corresponds to € 1.646, based on the table of scholarships awarded directly by FCT, I.P., in the country, with payment made monthly by bank transfer.
The selection methods to be used will be the following: curricular evaluation and interview, with the respective valuation of 60% (score from 1 to 20) and 40% (score from 1 to 20).

The evaluation results proposed by the juri will be notified, up to 90 days after the deadline for the submission of applications, by email, of the results proposed by the jury, with access to the minutes and the final ranking list.
After notification, candidates will have 10 working days to comment on the draft decision (prior hearing of interested parties, under the terms of the Code of Administrative Procedure). The final decision will be taken after the expiry of the prior hearing period, again notified to all candidates by e-mail. Of this final decision the candidates can file a complaint within 15 working days (to the e-mail address used for the notification), or an hierarchical appeal, within 30 working days, addressed to NOVA.ID.FCT's Board through the address [email protected] .
The tender is open from November 8, 2021 to November 19, 2021.
