Title : COMPETITION FOR GRANTING 1 Research Scholarship - PTDC/QUI-OUT/2586/2020 - 3/2022
A tender is open for the attribution of 1 (one) Research Scholarship(s) within the scope of the R&D project entitled Targeting human macrophage galactose C-type lectin towards the development of innovative and alternative cancer therapies, with the reference PTDC/QUI-OUT/2586/2020, funded by Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia, I.P/MCTES, under the following conditions:
Mandatory requirements: Candidates must cumulatively meet the following requirements: Master's Degree in Biochemistry/Chemistry or related fields; proven experience in protein expression and purification for NMR (with isotope labeling), experience in biomolecular nuclear magnetic resonance and protein-ligand interactions, from the protein and the ligand viewpoint. Previous experience in the expression and purification of the MGL (Macrophage Galactose C-Type Lectin) will be valued. Candidates must also present, at the time of contracting, proof of enrollment in a cycle of studies that may or may not award an academic degree by a Higher Education Institution.
Law No. 40/2004, of August 18, amended and republished by Decree-Law No. 202/2012 of August 27 (Statute of the Scientific Research Fellow) and amended by Decree-Law No. 233/2012 of October 29, by Law No. 12 /2013 of 29 January, by Decree-Law No. 89/2013, of 9 July and Decree-Law No. 123/2019, of 28 August; Regulation of Research Grants of NOVA.id.FCT – Association for Innovation and Development of FCT; Regulation of Research Grants of the Foundation for Science and Technology, I.P. in force (https://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/regulamento.phtml.pt );
The selection methods will be as follows:
a) Master's Classification – 40% (score from 1 to 20);
b) Experience in biomolecular nuclear magnetic resonance and protein-ligand interactions (namely in 1 H,15 N-HSQC, STD-RMN, trNOESY techniques), as well as experience in expression and purification isotopic labeled proteins - 40% (grade from 1 to 20)
c) Result of the interview in the case of candidates called – 20% (score from 1 to 20);
Only candidates that obtained a grade equal to or greater than 70% in the sum of criteria a) and b) will be selected for the interview.
The evaluation results proposed by the juri will be notified, up to 90 days after the deadline for the submission of applications, by email, of the results proposed by the jury, with access to the minutes and the final ranking list.
After notification, candidates will have 10 working days to comment on the draft decision (prior hearing of interested parties, under the terms of the Code of Administrative Procedure). The final decision will be taken after the expiry of the prior hearing period, again notified to all candidates by e-mail. Of this final decision the candidates can file a complaint within 15 working days (to the e-mail address used for the notification), or an hierarchical appeal, within 30 working days, addressed to NOVA.ID.FCT's Board through the address firstname.lastname@example.org .
The applications must be submitted between June 29th to July 12th, 2022.
Documentation to be provided when applying:
Applications must be formalized, obligatorily, by sending the following documents:
- Curriculum Vitae
- Master certificate
- Motivation letter and other documents that could be relevant
Form of submission of applications: Applications must be formalized, obligatorily, by sending an application letter. Applications must be delivered, in person, from 9 am to 6 pm, on weekdays, to Filipa Marcelo, Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science and Technology, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, 2829-516 Caparica, or sent by email (e-mail) to email@example.com .
