Offer Description
Competition is open for the award of two Research Scholarships (RS) by the Basic Education Research Center of the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (UIDB/05777/2020), funded by the PERQET Project (CBP003-PEREQT), in the Educational Sciences Area.
Candidates should: • be enrolled in a PhD in the field of Education Sciences or in non-degree courses integrated into the educational project of a higher education institution, developed in association or cooperation with one or more R&D units, or declare, under a commitment of honour, that this condition will be guaranteed at the time of the scholarship's contractualization. • They should hold: Master's degree in Pre-school Education or Master's degree in Pre-school Education and Teaching of the 1st CEB. Be proficient in writing and speaking Portuguese language.
The grants will have a duration of 4 months, with the possibility of renewal for up to 12 months starting on 01/02/2024.
The amount of the grant corresponds to € 1.199,64 €, according to the table of values of the grants awarded by FCT, I.P. in the country. The fellow will also benefit from a personal accident insurance, and if not included in any social security protocol, may adhere to the Portuguese Social Security through the Seguro Social Voluntário (Voluntary Social Security), in the terms present in the Portuguese Código dos Regimes Contributivos do Sistema Previdencial de Segurança Social. The monthly salary will be payed monthly by bank transfer.
Collecting data on early childhood education in São Tomé and Príncipe;
- Analysis of qualitative and quantitative data;
- Collecting, analyzing and processing data on the education system in São Tomé and Príncipe;
- Training for kindergarten teachers in São Tomé and Príncipe;
- Mission to São Tomé and Príncipe to carry out the activities mentioned in the previous paragraphs and others as the project develops.
The candidate must be available to work in São Tomé and Príncipe.
Grants goal:
- To collaborate in the analysis of data and in the preparation of the Report of the studies on the quality of early childhood education in São Tomé and Príncipe;
- Collaborate in the collection, analysis and processing of data on the quality of the education system in São Tomé and Príncipe.
Príncipe;
- Participating in the development of training modules for trainers in São Tomé and Príncipe.
- Accompanying the development of the work of kindergarten teachers in São Tomé and Príncipe.

Proof of academic degrees or diplomas, or enrollment in academic degrees or diplomas, may be waived at the application stage, being replaced by a candidate's sworn statement, and the verification of this condition is mandatory at the time of contracting the scholarship.
Academic degrees obtained in foreign countries require recognition by a Portuguese Institution in accordance with Decree-Law no. 66/2018, of August 16 and Portaria no. 33/2019, of January 25.
The presentation of the recognition is mandatory for the signature of the contract. Deadlines and Complaints and Appeals Procedures:
Suppose the decision to be taken is unfavourable to the grant of the requested scholarship. In that case, candidates have 10 working days, after the date of publication of the evaluation results, to express their views, if they wish, in the terms provided for in the Administrative Procedure Code. An appeal can be lodged with the President of IPB within 15 working days after notification of the final decision.
Additional comments
Documents proving the ownership of academic degrees or diplomas, or enrollment in an academic degree or diploma, may be dispensed with during the application stage, being replaced by a declaration of honor by the candidate, although substantiation of this condition is mandatory during the grant contracting stage.
Academic degrees obtained in foreign countries require recognition by a Portuguese Institution in accordance with Decree-Law No. 66/2018, of August 16th and Ordinance No. 33/2019, of January 25th. The presentation of the recognition is mandatory for the signing of the contract.
