Offer Description

The Centre for Research and Studies in Sociology (CIES-Iscte) of the University Institute of Lisbon (Iscte -Instituto Universitário de Lisboa) is open to applications for a research grant for a Master's student under the project "IN_Iscte - Space to grow", funded by the PRR, under the Programme for Promoting Success and Reducing Dropouts
in Higher Education (non-convergence regions).

The call for applications is open under the following conditions:
 

Scientific Field: Psychology

Work plan:
The work plan is based on supporting research, dissemination, and intervention activities within the scope of the "IN_Iscte - Space to grow" project. In particular, the grantee will assist the project team in carrying out mentoring activities (including collaboration and interaction with third parties in carrying out thematic workshops for student
mentors), monitoring them, carrying out satisfaction surveys and identifying opportunities for improvement, producing the respective reports. Collaborating in the implementation of awareness-raising activities for students with specific needs, namely through the planning and preparation of thematic content; carrying out beanchmarking
work in inclusion of students with specific needs in higher education at national and international level and producing the respective report with the good practices identified.

Specific Requirements

Admission requirements:

a) hold a degree in Psychology;
b) be enrolled in the Master's programme in Community Psychology, Protection of Children and Young People at Risk (according to Article 6 of the Research Scholarship Regulations of the Foundation for Science and Technology, I.P. (Reg. no. 950/2019);
c) having obtained a mark higher than 16 in the Curricular Units "Social Intervention Programmes" and "Community Psychology".
d) Previous participation in research or scientific initiation programmes or projects;

Academic degrees obtained in foreign countries need to be registered by a Portuguese institution, in accordance with Decree-Law no. 66/2018 of 16 August and Ministerial Order no. 33/2019 of 25 January. Preferential factors:
a. Experience in developing social and community intervention programmes;
b. Experience in promoting student integration programmes in higher education;
c. Proficiency in spoken and written Portuguese and English.

Benefits

Amount of the monthly maintenance allowance:
The amount of the grant corresponds to €990.98 according to the table of values of grants awarded by FCT, I.P. in the country (https://www.fct.pt/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/Tabela-de-Valores-SMM_atu… ). In addition to the stipend, the corresponding voluntary social insurance will be reimbursed, if the candidate chooses to take it out, as well as personal accident insurance. The grant will be paid monthly by bank transfer.

Exclusive regime: The work of a scientific research grant holder is carried out on an exclusive basis, as provided for in article 5 of the Research Grant Holder Statute, in conjunction with article 16 of the FCT Research Grant Regulations.

Duration of the grant:
The grant is for a period of 6 months. The grant contract may be renewed within the duration of the "IN_Iscte - Espaço para crescer" project and in accordance with the stipulations of point 4 of article 6 of the Research Grant Regulations of the Foundation for Science and Technology, I.P., in force

 


Selection process

The selection process will be based on curricular assessment. If several candidates demonstrate that they have the right profile to carry out the work plan, the jury reserves the right to call the three best-placed candidates in the curricular assessment for an interview, which will have a weighting of 30 per cent in the final score. If the jury deems
it unnecessary to hold interviews, the final weighting of the curricular assessment will be 100 per cent.

The curricular assessment criteria are based on:
a) academic record (reflects the final average of the bachelor's degree and the average of the master's degree at the time of application), with a weighting of 40%;
b) research experience, weighted at 30 %;
c) the experience demonstrated in the items indicated in the preferential factors, with a weighting of 30%.

The curricular assessment of the candidates will be carried out in accordance with the criteria indicated and will be carried out on an integer scale between 0 and 20.

 

The selection board reserves the right to:
a) invite the highest-scoring candidate to the position in question, following the order established in the final ranking list, whenever the selected candidate does not meet the requirements for formalizing the contract or in the event of unavailability.
b) not awarding the grant if none of the candidates matches the desired profile.

 

Composition of the Jury:
Candidates will be selected by a jury made up of: Dr Rosário Mauritti (CIES-Iscte/Iscte - Instituto Universitário de Lisboa), who will preside, and the members Dr Sónia Pintassilgo (CIES-Iscte/Iscte - Instituto Universitário de Lisboa), Master Rosário Candeias (SAS/Iscte - Instituto Universitário de Lisboa).
