Offer Description

Work Plan: This position aims to develop scientific research activities in the area of Social Sciences, in particular in the field of studies on work and economy, in the scope of the project PROWORK - Projectifying work: network organisation models in contemporaty capitalist societies. The position aims at performing the following research functions: bibliographic research; reading and analysis of bibliography; writing scientific texts; field work; qualitative data analysis; organization of research documentation; scheduling and organizing.

Workplace: The work will be carried out at the Centro Interuniversitário de História das Ciências e da Tecnologia of NOVA School of Science and Technology and at other places considered relevant in the scope of the Work Plan.

Fellowship duration: The fellowship will last for 12 months, starting in March 2024. The fellowship contract may be eventually renewed within the duration of the project.

Application deadline and form of application submission: The competition is open from February 7, 2024 to February 21, 2024.

Skills/Qualifications

Recipients profile/category:

Candidates must hold a master's degree in the social sciences or humanities, and must be enrolled in a doctoral program, or in a course that does not confer an academic degree integrated in an educational project of a Higher Education Institution. It is a necessary condition to demonstrate proficiency in written and spoken Portuguese and command of the English language, at reading and writing level.

The following documents are mandatory:

• Identity elements: citizen card/passport;

• Letter of motivation;

• Candidates' civil, tax and, when applicable, social security identification number;

• Documents proving that the candidates meet the required conditions, namely certificates of all academic degrees obtained respective recognition.

• Documents proving that candidates meet the required conditions, namely qualification certificates of all academic degrees obtained or respective recognition;

• Documents proving enrolment in a PhD or in a course not leading to an academic degree integrated in an educational project of a Higher Education Institution.

• Curriculum vitae updated and available on the CIÊNCIAVITAE platform. Empty CVs on the CIÊNCIAVITAE platform will not be considered.

Documents proving enrollment in a doctoral program or in a course that does not confer an integrated academic degree from a Higher Education Institution may be presented up to the scholarship contracting stage. The documents attesting to the possession of a master's degree (certificate of qualifications) must be presented at the application stage; if it is impossible to present them at this stage, they must be replaced by a declaration of honor from the candidate. The documents proving this situation must be presented at the contractualization stage. The documents recognizing the ownership of academic degrees and diplomas, when they have been provided by foreign higher education institutions, may be waived during the application phase for the support in question, and this condition will only be verified during the scholarship contracting phase, under article 25 of Decree-Law 66/2018

Benefits

Monthly maintenance allowance amount: This scholarship is awarded as a monthly subsidy under the terms of Regulation No. 234/2012 of the Foundation for Science and Technology in the amount of € 1 199,64. If the scholarship holder is not covered by any social protection regime, he can join the voluntary social insurance regime, under the terms of the Code of Contributory Regimes of the Social Security System.


Eligibility criteria

Selection criteria: Applications considered admissible will be scored on a scale of 0 to 20 points, considering:

1. Criterion A: Academic profile, weight 70%

- Appropriateness of the degree and master to the research to be developed (35%);

- Quality of the CV and its appropriateness to the research to be developed (35%).

2. Criterion B: Integration into the objectives of the Work Plan, weight 30%.

- Work/research experience in national and international research projects (15%);

- Work/research experience in areas related to the project (15%).

In case of need for clarification of some of the above elements, candidates will be invited for an interview. Candidates will be ordered according to the weighted average of the classification obtained in each of the two criteria.

For tie-breaking purposes, the ranking of candidates will be based on the ratings assigned to each of the evaluation criteria in the following order of precedence: criterion A, criterion B.


Selection process

Composition of the Selection Jury:

The jury is composed by Dr Paula Urze, Associate Professor with Habilitation of NOVA School of Science and Technology, co-responsible investigator of the project, Dr. Luísa Veloso, Associate Professor of ISCTE – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, responsible investigator of the project and Dr. Alexandre Manuel Roque Vianna e Silva, invited adjunct Professor at Escola Superior de Ciências Empresariais do Instituto Politécnico de Setúbal.

The minutes of the evaluation panel meetings will be signed by all the members of the panel present in the meetings. The minutes and their annexes must include the following information:

• Name and affiliation of all evaluation panel members;

• Identification of all excluded applications and respective grounds;

• Final Evaluation Sheets for each candidate; • Methodology adopted by the panel for cases considered particular;

• Provisional ranking and ranking list of candidates, in descending order of the final ranking, of all applications evaluated by the panel.

Form of advertising/notification of results: The final results of the evaluation shall be notified, up to 90 days after the deadline for submission of applications, via email, of the results proposed by the jury, with access to the minutes and the final ranking list. After notification of the provisional list of evaluation results, the candidates have a period of 10 working days to, if they wish, make their comments during a prior hearing of interested parties, under the terms of articles 121 and following of the Administrative Procedure Code. The final decision will be issued after the analysis of the statements presented during the prior hearing of interested parties. A complaint may be lodged against the final decision within 15 working days, or alternatively an appeal may be lodged within 30 working days, both counting from the respective notification.
