By order, on 17 May 2021, of the General Director of Instituto de Telecomunicações it was decided to open an international call to select one candidate researcher in the scientific the scope of the approved project “FLOYD – 5G/SDN Intelligent Systems For LOw latencY V2X communications in cross-Domain mobility applications”.

Job description:

• Research and design wireless networked computing systems to support low latency communication between vehicles and vulnerable road users in multi-tiered heterogeneous networking environments with access to edge computing resources.

• Publish results in high-impact scientific journals and conferences.

• Support funding acquisition for subsequent projects.

Applicable Legislation:

• Decree-Law no. 57/2016 of 29th of August, which approved the hiring of doctorate to stimulate scientific and technological employment for all areas of knowledge (RJEC), amended by the Law 57/2017 dated 19th of July, and regulated by Regulatory Decree nr 11-A/2017, dated 29th December

• Labour Code approved by Law no. 7/2009 of 12 February, under its current Reading.

According to article 13 of RJEC, the selection panel shall be:

• Prof. Ana Cristina Costa Aguiar, Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto (President of the jury)
• Prof. Pedro Miguel Alves Brandão, Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade do Porto
• Prof. Rui Pedro de Magalhaes Claro Prior, Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade do Porto
• Prof. Veronica Costa Teixeira Pinto Orvalho, Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade do Porto (Substitute)

The workplace shall be at Instituto de Telecomunicações, Delegação do Porto, Universidade do Porto - Faculdade de Engenharia, Departamento de Engenharia Electrotécnica e de Computadores, Rua Dr. Roberto Frias, s/n, 4200-465 Porto or at any other facilities of Instituto de Telecomunicações namely in Aveiro, Coimbra, Lisboa, Covilhã, Leiria or others, in accordance with the requirements and needs of research projects.

Monthly remuneration is set by article 23 (3) of RJEC, corresponding to level 44 of the Salary Table, approved by Order no. 1553-C/2008 of December 31st, i.e. 2.702,83 Euros.

Any national, foreign and stateless candidate(s) holding a doctorate degree in Informatics, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Systems or other related scientific areaand a suitable scientific and professional curriculum may submit an application.
