Selection process

The selection and ranking methods to be used will be the following: curriculum assessment (AC) and selection interview (ES). The Final Classification, used for the ranking of candidates, is expressed on a scale from 0 to 20 points and is given by the following formula:

CF = 0.7×AC + 0.3×ES

The assessment consists of analyzing the candidate's profile, experience in the development of research work in the area, motivation, knowledge in the area, and demonstrated availability.

The three best classified in the AC criterion will be selected for the interview.

The jury reserves the right not to award the research grant in a competition depending on the result of the evaluation of the applications and whether they are suited to the objectives of the IPV.

Candidates holding degrees issued by foreign higher education institutions may apply and will be evaluated according to the same criteria as candidates holding degrees issued by Portuguese institutions, provided that they present, together with their application, proof of recognition of the academic degrees and conversion of the final classification to the Portuguese classification scale under the terms of the legislation in force. Candidates with foreign diplomas who do not present proof of the conversion of their final classification to the Portuguese classification scale will be evaluated with the minimum classification. In any case, scholarship contracts with candidates for holders of degrees awarded by foreign institutions will only be concluded upon presentation of proof of recognition of academic degrees and conversion of the final classification, as mentioned above.
