Offer Description

A call for tenders for one (1) research scholarship for Masters is currently open in the research project “VINCULUM”, financed by the European Research Council, under the following conditions:

 

Work plan: The grant holder will be integrated into the project team, working under the coordination of the Principal Investigator and in conjunction with the other members of the project team. The activities to be carried out include:

 

-Auditing the project's database on a weekly basis and coordinating it in accordance with the ISAD(G) archival description standards, the ISAAR-CPF authority record preparation standards and the VINCULUM project's internal standards.

 

Duration of the grant: The scholarship will last for 6 months, starting on February 1, 2024. The scholarship contract may be renewed for a maximum of 8 months.

2. Certificate of qualifications and certificate of subjects taken (bachelor's and master's degrees);

3. Proof of enrollment in the doctorate;

4. Motivation letter (maximum 1.5 pages).

Specific Requirements

1. General requirements:

- To be enrolled in a doctoral program in History;

- Master's degree in the aforementioned scientific area;

- Postgraduate training in Information and Documentation Sciences;

- Proficiency and ongoing experience working with AtoM archival description software, particularly in terms of auditing databases created with it;

- Experience of working with Ancien Regime family archives.

 

The preferred factors are:

- Proven experience in implementing, auditing and correcting archival databases, preferably AtoM software;

- Motivation for teamwork;

- Research autonomy;

- Scientific publications in the areas mentioned in the general requirements.

Benefits

Financial conditions of the scholarship (remuneration): The amount of the scholarship corresponds to €1470.00, paid monthly and by bank transfer.


Eligibility criteria

1. General requirements:

Selection process

The selection methods to be used will be as follows: curricular assessment and interview, with a respective score of 80% and 20%.

1st stage: the curricular assessment will be based on the arithmetic average of the scores achieved on the following items:

- Master's degree final classification (15%)

- Final grade in postgraduate training (15%)

- Experience working with AtoM software (70%).

 

a) Only candidates with a score of 15 or more will be considered for the 2nd stage.

 

2nd stage: interview on CV, general and specific knowledge required, motivation.

Permanent Members: Prof. Dr. Pedro Almeida Cardim (FCSH.NOVA);

Prof. Dr. José Damião Rodrigues (FL-UL);

Substitute members: Rita Nóvoa (IEM - FCSH.NOVA);

Miguel Aguiar (IEM - FCSH.NOVA).

 

The results of the evaluation will be published in a public and visible space of the Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas da Universidade Nova de Lisboa through a list sorted by the final grade obtained. The selected candidate will be notified by email.

 

After communicating the provisional list of the results of the evaluation, the candidates have a period of 10 working days to express their opinion in a preliminary hearing of interested parties, pursuant to articles 121º and following of the Code of Administrative Procedure.
