Offer Description

A competition is open for the award of a Post-Doctoral Research Grant(s) (BIPD) within the scope of the V2G-QUESTS project - Vehicle to Grid for Equitable Zero-Emission Transitions in positive energy districts, (DUT/0002/2022 ). Doctor's Degree in Economic and Social Geography, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Social Sciences, Health Sciences, Political Science, Economics, and related areas; proficiency in Portuguese and English (written and spoken); holder of a scientific and professional curriculum that reveals a profile suitable for the activity to be carried out. Preferred factors: authorship or coauthorship of scientific publications, participation in research projects, solid computer knowledge at the user level, knowledge of quantitative and/or qualitative data analysis, proven experience of teamwork.

Application deadline and form of submission of applications: The competition is open from January 31, 2024 to February, 14 2024, with only applications being accepted within the established deadline Work plan: Carrying out research, management and knowledge dissemination activities within the scope of the V2G-QUESTS project, in accordance with the tasks planned for the University of Aveiro, namely: - Participation in the 6 WorkPackages foreseen in the project, in close coordination with researchers from the University of Aveiro who are part of the project; - Development of the case study carried out in Portugal, including collection and analysis of quantitative data, carrying out and analyzing surveys and conducting workshops and interviews; - Coordination with the consortium’s international partners; - Coordination with cooperation partners, namely Portuguese cooperating entities; - Carrying out dissemination activities (e.g. scientific articles, communication at conferences), communication and dissemination of the project; - Support for project management activities, in close coordination with the national project coordinator. Workplace: The work will be carried out at the Governance, Competitiveness and Public Policies Research Unit (GOVCOPP) / Department of Social, Political and Territorial Sciences (DCSPT) of the University of Aveiro, under the scientific guidance of Professor Doctor Gonçalo Santinha.

Duration of the scholarship(s): The scholarship will last for 12 months, starting on February 1, 2024, potentially renewable for additional periods up to the maximum approved funding limit, and in no case exceeding the limits defined in the Regulation for the type of scholarship in question, in accordance with article 7 of Regulation no. 950/2019, of November 29, published in Diário da República, no. 241, 2nd Series, of December 16th (Regulation of Research Grants of the FCT, I.P

Skills/Qualifications

If the qualification was granted by a foreign higher education institution, it must be recognized by a Portuguese higher education institution, in accordance with the provisions of article 25 of Decree-Law no. 66/2018, of 16 August, which approves the legal regime for the recognition of academic degrees and Higher Education diplomas, awarded by foreign higher education institutions, and paragraph e) of paragraph 2 of article 4 of Decree-Law nº 60/2018, of August 3, any formalities established there must be completed by the date of contracting.

Eligibility: Candidates who comply with the provisions of paragraph b) of paragraph 1 and paragraph 2 of article 2 of the Research Fellow Statute, as amended by Decree-Law No. 123/2019, are eligible. , of August 28, and also the regime established in article 7 of the Research Grants Regulations of the Foundation for Science and Technology. The BIPD can only be granted if the following requirements are cumulatively met: a) The doctoral degree was obtained in the three years prior to the date of submission of the scholarship application; b) Post-doctoral research is carried out in a host entity different from the entity where the research work that led to the award of the doctoral degree was carried out; c) Research activities do not require post-doctoral experience; d) Research activities have a development and execution period equal to or less than three years; e) The scholarship holder does not exceed, with the conclusion of the scholarship contract in question, including possible renewals, an accumulated period of three years in this type of scholarship, consecutive or interpolated.

Benefits

The amount of the scholarship corresponds to €1,741.00, according to the table of monthly maintenance allowance values, set out in Annex I of Regulation no. article 18 of Regulation no. 950/2019, of November 29, published in Diário da República, no. 241, 2nd Series, of December 16 (Regulation of Research Grants of FCT, I.P.). The scholarship holder may also be reimbursed the amount corresponding to Voluntary Social Insurance, in case of adherence to this scheme

Selection process

The selection methods to be used will be the following: curricular evaluation and interview (to be carried out with the top 4 classified in the curricular evaluation), with the respective assessment of: suitability of the candidate's profile in areas related to the project theme (20%), scientific curriculum (30%), motivation letter (10%), interview (40%).The jury also has the right not to choose any candidate if it considers that they do not meet the required criteria with quality.

12. Method of publishing/notifying results: The final results of the evaluation will be published through a list ordered by final grade obtained, posted on the University's website, within a maximum period of 90 working days after the final date of application submission, and the candidate (a) approved and notified via email, with a period of 10 working days being set for the purpose of prior hearing of interested parties, as provided for by the Code of Administrative Procedure. At the end of the period set for the hearing of interested parties and, in the absence of any response from them, the ranking list of candidates will become definitive. Candidates may lodge a complaint within 15 working days of the final decision, or appeal to the highest executive body of the financing entity within 30 working days after notification of the final decision, in accordance with the provisions of article 12 of the Regulation of Research Grants of the Foundation for Science and Technology.

14. Validity of the competition: The final ranking list of candidates will be valid for a period of 4 months after notification of candidates, for the purposes of creating a selection reserve list.
