A call for one (1) research grant is currently open within the context of project VINCULUM - Entailing Perpetuity: Family, Power, Identity. The Social Agency of a Corporate Body (Southern Europe, 14th-17th Centuries). ERC- Grant Agreement n. 819734

Work plan:

The fellow will be integrated into the project team working under the coordination of the Principal Investigator and in liaison with the other team members. Activities to be carried out include:

- Documentary surveys in historical archives;

- Inputting data into the project database.

Working Place:

The workplace is located on the premises of VINCULUM, NOVA FCSH, Colégio Almada Negreiros (CAN), Campus de Campolide, Lisbon and other places necessary for the development of research activities in the territory Portuguese, under the scientific guidance of Professor Maria de Lurdes Rosa and in collaboration with the other members of the project team.

Duration of the scholarship:

The scholarship will have a duration of 12 months, and is scheduled to start in November 2022. The scholarship contract may be renewed for a maximum of 12 months.

Benefits:

The amount of the scholarship corresponds to € 875,98, according to the values fixed directly by FCT, I.P. in the country (http://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores ). The voluntary social insurance (Seguro Social Voluntário) corresponding to the first echelon, may be added to this amount if the hired candidate chooses for it’s attribution, as well as an insurance for personal accident.

Applications must be formalized, mandatorily and under penalty of exclusion, by email by sending an application letter accompanied by the following documents in PDF format:

1. Detailed Curriculum Vitae containing all the candidate's identification data, and evidencing, in particular, the existence of admission requirements and preferential factors

2. Degree certificate with separate subjects;

3. Proof of enrollment in a master's or non-degree course

Should the academic degrees of the selected applicant have been conferred by a foreign higher education institution, its recognition must obey the provisions of Decree-Law no. 66/2018, of 16 August; or in the absence of recognition by the time of the application, a declaration of honour must be presented stating that the recognition of the academic degrees will be made before the signature of the scholarship’s contract if the candidate is selected.

Nevertheless, the presentation of the academic degrees is mandatory until the moment of the contractualization of the scholarship.

Admission requirements:

- Degree in History

- Completed attendance of CU Medieval and/or Modern Paleography

- Knowledge of archival description software

- Research practice in medieval and modern archival funds

- It is a condition of eligibility to be a registered student or to meet the necessary conditions to register for an integrated master's degree, a master's degree, or a non-academic degree course integrated in the educational project of a higher education institution, developed in association or cooperation with one or several R&D units.

The preferred factors are:

- Knowledge of the bibliography on the topic

- Knowledge of archival funds related to the topic

In compliance with the provisions of article 6 of the FCT Research Grants Regulation (Reg. no. 950/2019):

- Research grant (student of a non-academic degree course):

a) have a degree or a master's degree and be enrolled in a non-academic degree course integrated in the educational project of a higher education institution, developed in association or cooperation with one or more R&D units;

b) not exceed, with the conclusion of the scholarship contract in question, including possible renewals, an accumulated period of two years in this type of scholarship, consecutive or interpolated.

- Research grant (Master's student):

a) be enrolled in an integrated master's or a master's degree.

The applications must be necessarily submitted by email with an application letter, together with the following documents:

- Certificates of academic qualifications

Should the academic degrees of the selected applicant have been conferred by a foreign higher education institution, its recognition must obey the provisions of Decree-Law no. 66/2018, of 16 August; or in the absence of recognition by the time of the application, a declaration of honour must be presented stating that the recognition of the academic degrees will be made before the signature of the scholarship’s contract if the candidate is selected.
