Job Type: Temporary
Deadline: 25 Oct 2021

PhD students (2 vacancies) – scholarship position available in the Institute of Physical Chemistry PAS within NCN MAESTRO, no. 2019/34/A/ST5/00416, "Elaboration of unconventional nanostructured perovskites and zinc oxide through compositional and morphological engineering for game-changing improvements in light harvesting devices" (project leader: prof. dr hab. inż. Janusz Lewiński)

Main objectives of the project are directed to tackle challenges concerning either the perovskite absorber layer and the ZnO-based ETL We plan to develop mechanochemical processes for the preparation of highly advanced multicomponent MHP inks. We will also focus on the development of controlled growth of MHP materials with various morphologies including single crystals, nanowires and unprecedented nanotubes/microtubes. In regard to ZnO-based ETL, we propose elaborate new high-quality ZnO and metal-doped ZnO nanostructures by the developed in our group one-pot self-supporting organometallic (OSSOM) procedure. Finally, the relationship between device performance and bulk physical properties of both MHPs and ZnO materials will be systematically investigated.

PhD students will be involved in realization of the following research tasks:

  • Compositional engineering of halide perovskites using mechanosynthesis and wet approaches.
  • Development of high quality ZnO nanomaterials prospective for light harvesting devices.
  • Fabrication of perovskite- and ZnO-based layers.
  • Characterization of physicochemical properties of the resulting nanostructured materials.
