Offer Description

A PhD student position is available in Chiroptical Spectroscopy Group of Agnieszka Kaczor at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow (Poland). We focus on analysis of complex chiral supramolecular systems using chiroptical spectroscopies, in particular Vibrational Optical Activity (VOA): Raman Optical Activity (ROA) and Vibrational Circular Dichroism (VCD).

The position is funded by the project OPUS25 NCN ‘Multilevel chirality, reversibility and polymorphism of amyloid fibril superstructures’ that addresses fundamental topics related to amyloid fibrils that including chirality and structural polymorphism, reversibility of formation of the structures on the off-pathway protein folding, capacity for post-formation modifications, and influence of ‘seeds’ on fibril structures.   • Master's degree in chemistry, medicinal chemistry, biochemistry, or related fields
  • Basic knowledge of molecular spectroscopy, and experience in spectroscopic measurements and data analysis is advantageous
  • Interest in the project’s topic,  a high degree of self-motivation, and ability to work in a team.
  • Fluent in English (B2 level or higher)
