PhD positions in astrophysics

The Nicolaus Copernicus Astronomical Center is inviting applications for PhD positions in astrophysics.

NCAC is an astronomical institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences, currently holding an A+ category. Research is primarily concentrated on astronomy, astrophysics, astroparticle physics, and associated instrumentation. The institute operates the GeoPlanet Doctoral School , in collaboration with seven scientific institutions.

A range of topics is offered, focusing on high-energy astrophysics, gravitational waves, dark matter, and astroparticle physics. The specific topics are:
- Science with gravitational waves in the era of LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA Discoveries
- Novel detector concepts for future Dark Matter experiments
- Astroparticle physics with neutrinos (and/or muons)
- High-energy astrophysics
- Numerical simulations of relativistic jets from black holes

PhD students in the doctoral school will receive a scholarship for a period of 4 years; please refer to the announcement for specific details.
