Research project name and description:

"The process of restoring meaning in cancer: the role of psychological flexibility. An intensive longitudinal and experimental study", NCN project no 2020/39/B/HS6/01927 (OPUS 20) led by Aleksandra Kroemeke, PhD, Professor at SWPS University.

Cancer often causes a series of losses that oscillate over time and require adaptation. These losses can interfere with an individual's life goals and sense of meaningfulness, hence the restoration of meaning constitutes an important element of adjustment to illness. The project aims to gain a deeper understanding of the process of making meaning in cancer by validating and extending the integrative meaning-making model of coping. To this end, an intensive longitudinal (i.e. diary) and experimental study will be conducted among people who have undergone hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
