About the position

We have a vacancy for a 3-year Postdoctoral fellowship at the Department of Geoscience and Petroleum (IGP).

The Postdoctoral fellowship is part of a Collaborative and Knowledge-building Project called MultiFlow SUITE: Smart Utilization of Data for CondItion Monitoring, Operational OpTimization, and Tie-in DEsign, financed by the Research Council of Norway. Partners include SINTEF, IFE, NTNU and industrial partners Neptune Energy, Technip Norge, Schlumberger Information Systems, LedaFlow Technologies and ESSS.

The overall objective of the project is to develop novel frameworks for automated multiphase pipe flow monitoring, model tuning and virtual flow metering. The methods to be used in the research are combining large amounts of lab and industrial multiphase pipe flow data and statistical processing methods, machine learning (ML), uncertainty quantification, and predictive physics-based models.

The Postdoctoral fellow is assigned to the Department of Geoscience and Petroleum (IGP). The Postdoctoral fellow is expected to work on dissemination and knowledge-transfer activities (webinars, presentations and article publishing), including developing an online course about the topics of the project (multiphase flow fundamentals and machine learning applications). The postdoctoral fellow is also expected to supervise master students and support other work packages considering her/his interests and proficiency. The postdoctoral fellow is supervised by Associate Prof. Milan Stanko from the Department of Geoscience and Petroleum (IGP).

The postdoctoral fellowship position is a temporary position where the main goal is to qualify for work in senior academic positions.

You will report to Head of Department.
