About the position

The position is based in the Quattrocolo group, a newly established research group part of the Kavli Institute for Systems Neuroscience/Centre for Neural Computation.  The Centre for Neural Computation is a centre of excellence funded for 10 years by the Norwegian Research Council. We offer an international and multidisciplinary environment in which creativity and scientific discourse is valued and stimulated. See http://www.ntnu.edu/kavli for detailed information.

The Quattrocolo group at the Kavli Institute for Systems Neuroscience has an opening for a Ph.D. student to study hippocampal circuit development. The main research interest of the lab is the study of cortical circuit development. In particular we focus on understanding the influence of specific cell types (such as Cajal-Retzius cells) in the establishment and maturation of the circuit of the hippocampal-entorhinal area. We aim to combine different techniques, from anatomical tracing to transcriptomic, from in vitro to in vivo physiology to reach our goal.
