Updated: 3 months ago
Job Type: FullTime
Deadline: 04 Oct 2022

The iBV (Université Cote d'Azur, Nice, France) is a centre of excellence that focuses on the basic principles governing the development of normal cells, tissues and embryos and those leading to pathogenesis and cancer. We can offer state of the art equipment and a vibrant research environment with active national and international collaborations.

We invite applications for a PhD fellowship to join an internationally recognized research group at the iBV, a research centre of excellence at the University Cote d'Azur.
Adrenals are central hormone producing organs that control key parameters of body homeostasis. Organ maintenance is ensured through stem cell populations that reside in, or close to the adrenal capsule. Defects in stem cell renewal can lead to rapid loss of organ function and are therefore life threatening. How adrenal stem cells are specified during development, how they are activated during tissue maintenance and which factors drive their differentiation towards the steroidogenic lineage is presently poorly understood. The successful candidate will use single cell sequencing data to identify pathways driving the differentiation of pluripotent stem cells into steroidogenic organs, analyse stem cell behavior and develop approaches for adrenal tissue engineering.
We are looking for a highly motivated candidate who has achieved academic excellence and is interested in a challenging but highly rewarding research project in stem cell biology.
