Purpose
To support women undertaking a Bachelor of Veterinary Science

Background
The Kate Edger Educational Charitable Trust (KEECT) is a registered charity which encourages, promotes and advances education for women, whether it is in Research, Professional, Artistic or Creative Activities.

Value and tenure
The value of the award is $6,000. The money will be paid in two equal instalments

Eligibility
Applicants must be female students who are New Zealand citizens or permanent residents.
Applicants must be enrolled full time in year two or three of a Bachelor of Veterinary Science

Selection criteria
The selection criterion is:
•Academic merit
•Evidence of good citizenship or community service
•A statement from the applicant about why they believe companion animals are integral to a healthy society

Selection panel
The scholarship is awarded by the University Scholarships Committee on the recommendation of the KEECT. A shortlist of three students will be provided to the KEECT for final selection.
The Committee has the right to refrain from making an award should there be no suitable applicants.

Conditions of the scholarship
The scholarship may be held in conjunction with other scholarships, bursaries or awards, so long as those scholarships, bursaries or awards permit co-tenure.

Closing date
The closing date for applications is 4 June for tenure in the same year.
