Who we are/Mō te tīma
We are the Division of Shared Services, a team of highly skilled professional staff responsible for delivering an outstanding student and staff experience through high quality, effective service delivery to all of the University’s internal and external customers.
Our specific focus is on the student experience felt by our students here at the University of Otago. We work to provide accurate and timely information, assistance and advice across a range of activities from admission to graduation.
The role/Te mahi
We have an exciting position within our team for someone to lead our Student Adviser team and continue to grow the team and the service offered by Student Development.  Within this position you will help to guide and develop a supportive work culture.  This is a rewarding opportunity with the chance to make a real impact in the student experience felt by our students.
As the Team Leader, you will:
•    Manage a team of Student Advisers focussed on working alongside undergraduate students to provide high quality advice for these students, ensuring that they go on to have an outstanding University of Otago experience.
•    Manage the day-to-day work of the Student Development team.
•    Maintain a small advising caseload.
•    Maintain a small portfolio of programmes or services as a subject matter expert.

We are looking for someone who has:
•    Experience managing or supervising teams or exposure to managing teams.
•    Prior advisory experience.
•    A genuine passion to help and support an exceptional service for all students.
•    An ongoing commitment to positive outcomes for our students and staff.
Due to the nature of the Shared Services Division, the range of tasks and responsibilities is broad and may require performing duties at different workplaces or locations across campus.

We are committed to on-going training and development in order to upskill successful candidates in areas that they desire more exposure to.
