Decision makers
Applications are awarded by an independent panel after each round. As well as judging an application on its merit the panel also consider how an application aligns with the aims of the scholarship programme. The panel will positively weight applicants with Māori and Pacific cultural capabilities and those that intend to teach Science, Technology, Maths, te reo Māori or in ECE and Māori Medium settings. Positive weightings will be flexible and will may change dependent upon teacher supply pressures. We hold cultural competencies, passion and life experience in the same regard as your academic history. Our application form is designed to let you show this off!

How and when do students learn of the decision?
We will let you know when we have received your application. Please contact us if your application has not been acknowledged within one week of the closing date. We will consider your application and let you know via post whether you have been offered a scholarship. Please be aware, that due to the limited availability of the Te Huawhiti Career Changer Scholarship (85) they may all be allocated before the third round.
