The Award was established in 2018 and is funded by Penelope Brook who held positions at the World Bank and is the inaugural Executive Director of Atlantic Institute in Oxford.
The intention of the Award is to encourage and support Māori students and Pacific students to undertake postgraduate study in the Faculty of Arts at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland.
