This scholarship was established in 2021 to support postgraduate research in pastoral livestock production and grazing management at the Lincoln University Pastoral Livestock Production Lab.

Consumers and producers of animal products are increasingly aware of the intricate connections between the health of the land, animals, and humans, as well as of our collective responsibilities to sustain and enhance te taiao for future generations.
Consequently, land users, policy-makers and wider society are calling for alternative approaches to pastoral systems; a call for functionally diversified-adaptive, integrative food pastoral systems that simultaneously operate across multiple scales, from landscapes and foodscapes to healthscapes.

Tuition fees plus $28,000 stipend per annum

• Academic Merit
  A minimum grade point average equating to an A- (80%) average is required in order to be eligible to apply for the scholarship.
• Field of research and its relevance to this scholarship, for example, biology, animal science, meat science, grasslands and rangelands management, or ecology.

• Open to applicants who have gained entrance into a Doctor of Philosophy programme; who are new to the Lincoln University Doctoral programme at the commencement of the semester immediately following the award OR who have registered for the Lincoln University Doctoral Programme no more than six months prior to the closing date of applications
• Open to New Zealand citizens, permanent residents or international students.
